PCC Standing Committee

The Standing Committee met last Sunday afternoon (3rd June).

There were reports of many positive things taking place e.g. Coffee & Cake, Short & Sweet, Sunday Sales, Passover Meal, new members in church and a good number of baptisms and weddings being booked, and no concerns raised as a result of Val’s notice the week before to let her know. We have worship planned a good few months ahead, including the   regular ministry of Revd Rob, Revd John, Revd Helen and Sandra, and other visitors joining us too. We are on track with issues such as Safeguarding and Data Protection (more on these soon) and agreed to plan more social events.

To be honest, there is some frustration with the      Diocesan Office, but we are keeping ‘on the case’ and praying hard, along with you all, for the right solution for    Immanuel. If you have any questions, do please talk to any of us: Richard, Valerie, Rosemary, Sandra, Ian, Barbara, Revd Helen and Christine.

Coffee Morning

Drinking and eating from bone china is something very special.

Just under 40 people spent an enjoyable morning in church recently enjoying tea, coffee and toasted teacakes with jam.

There was lively conversation, laughter, good company and a lovely atmosphere. As a bonus, £139 was raised for church funds.

The morning was a pleasure with everyone saying how much they had enjoyed the time spent together. Thanks to those who organised and hosted the morning.  A lovely way to spend a Friday morning. Thank you to all who came and supported the event.

We are planning another coffee morning later in the year.

Annual Parochial Church Meeting and Vestry Meeting 22nd April 2018

At the AGM Valerie Saunders and Richard Johnson were elected to serve as Church Wardens for the coming year. One vacancy on the PCC was filled by Janet Molloy, leaving a vacancy unfilled. If you are interested in becoming a member of the PCC please speak with Rosemary Rivett.

Foodbank - 1st April 2018

I took the foodbank offerings into the Bank last Wednesday. The total weight was 27.9Kg or sufficient for 66 meals.

As always, many thanks. The mixture is greatly

appreciated, especially the tinned vegetables, Peas, Carrots and Potatoes.

Last time I reported an increase in people using the facility, this increase in demand is continuing.

Regards

Michael

Raffle - 1st April 2018

The raffle held last week raised £110. The grid £30 with a further £16.50 raised through a small sale. The total of £156.50 will be donated to church funds.

Very many thanks for our support and special thanks to those who organised the fund raising.
